AEM Releases Powersports Plug & Play Fuel/Ignition Controller-4 (F/IC-4) for
1999-’01 (GSXR1300) and 2001-’04 (GSXR 1000) Turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusas!
March 31, 2011, Hawthorne, CA—AEM announces the release of its Powersports Plug & Play F/IC-4 for 1999-’01 (GSXR 1300, PN#30-1921) and 2001-’04 (GSXR 1000, PN#30-1922) Hayabusas with aftermarket turbo systems. The Powersports F/IC-4 is a PC-programmable, piggyback controller that allows users to retard timing and add/subtract fuel, making it the perfect solution for boosted applications that do not need standalone engine management!
WHY YOU WANT ONE
Optimization of fuel and ignition curves to maximize overall response, performance, ride-ability and reliability are critical to getting the most from your Hayabusa’s turbo system. AEM’s Powersports Plug & Play F/IC-4 accomplishes the above tasks, and eliminates the need for a more costly standalone engine management system by working in parallel with the factory ECU via a supplied wiring harness. It allows you to retard timing and add or subtract fuel, and works with either the factory fuel injectors or larger, aftermarket injectors by reducing injector pulse-width. We know of no other fuel/ignition controller that can currently accomplish this. Alternatively, the Powersports F/IC-4 can tap into the factory injector signal to drive four (4) additional injectors.
The Powersports Plug & Play F/IC-4 comes with an onboard MAP sensor that is used for boosted fueling and timing, as well as “clamping” the factory MAP sensor. The unit integrates seamlessly on motorcycles with CAN-BUS to retain full functionality of the dashboard and other network components such as drive by wire throttle controls. It also includes 2MB of internal datalogging.

AEM’s engineers have simplified installation of the Powersports Plug & Play F/IC-4 by including a plug & play harness to integrate with the factory ECU, a start-up calibration and a quick-start guide to simplify the tuning process. The software is Windows™-based for ease of use. The FIC is programmed using a USB interface for easy real time tuning or bench top tuning.
