AEM’s Tru-Time Cam Gear increases horsepower and torque through advancing or retarding cam timing without having to change camshaft(s) and are a must-have for engines that are milled, been changed to forced induction and/or utilizing aftermarket competition cams. AEM cam gears enable you maximize power though cam timing, and on twin cam vehicles allows you to adjust intake and exhaust cam timing separately. Precision-cut teeth ensure no premature wearing of the belt surface, and AEM's anodizing on the gear teeth is lab-test proven as the hardest anodizing process on the market today.

The AEM Tru-Time cam gears are ideal for those that want find the maximum power for their engine. You can even use cam timing to move the power curve to higher or midrange power, allowing for a higher RPM powerband (drag racing) or for more midrange torque (road racing). By adjusting cam timing, the Tru-Time cam gears allow the cam(s) and ignition timing to be perfected for the mechanical set-up of their engine. We have seen substantial gains in midrange power and torque with cam timing is adjustments, even with stock cams. Also, a milled block or shaved head can change the base cam timing, and using a Tru-Time cam gear can get you back to the optimal cam timing you need to make power.
