RB26 Aftermarket Crank Sensor

Hello, is there any way I can upgrade the factory Nissan CAS? Im looking to buy this but I was told It could not be setup with the Series 2 30-6620.

No reason why that wouldn't work with a Series 2. The output signal is exactly the same as the AEM Nissan CAS disc - 12 crank teeth and a single cam tooth. No difference.

Thanks, so I should connect the sesnors to he correct pins for the cam and crank sensor and thats it? no need to reconfigure wizard or anything?

Right - wire it appropriately

Right - wire it appropriately, set wizard for AEM Nissan CAS disc and then sync the timing and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the help, also i can see the Tacho and Speed are way off. I currently have a 1998 240sx with a RB26 swap. Is there anything I can do to fix both issues?

Tacho output in base cal is

Tacho output in base cal is setup for 6 pulse per cycle. You'll probably need to change it to 4 pulses per cycle - see the Tacho table in the Tacho-Speedo tab.

As best I know it, there's a speed input into the ECU but nothing comes back out that goes to the speedometer so there's nothing in the ECU to adjust the speedo reading on the dash.  You'll have to do some research to see what others with RB swaps have done.

One last question, for the

One last question, for the traction control, Series 2 can only be setup with one speed sensor or one imput? thinking about running a hall effect sensor on the abs mounts in the diff, do you think thats the best place or the front wheels? thanks.

Hi, Im doing the same on my Skyline... So in this case there is not need to take one tooth out of the crank disc?

Sort of but not really. Won't make any kind of difference that can actually be measured or quantified. Just better "technically". Unless you want to mess around with custom crank/cam timing pattern settings to make 12-1 work, it's probably not worth doing. Plenty of motors making four digit horsepower with a regular 12 & 1 pattern without any kind of problems.

Yes, we have spark and fuel but we havent re-sync the ignition timing since the engine is not starting...

Thanks for your help, so we finally were able to start the engine after retard the timing by a lot haha... Quick question, when we were retarding the timing we clicked on the advance option and we saw this "Ingition Sync" X Value "Teeth"... Whats this value exactly? The ignition timing? It moved from 9 to 22 while we were retarding the timing to make the engine start... I uploaded a imagine so you can see what im talking about... Thanks again!

It's a timing offset based in

It's a timing offset based in teeth which is each trigger tooth of the crank wheel. In this case you have 12 so 360°/12=30° per tooth.  The timing sync process shifts all the ignition events either advanced or retarded so that the timing at the motor matches what is commanded by the ECU.  Since you changed your cam reference, the sync point moved thus the ignition events were happening at the wrong time and needed to be re-synced to get them in the correct spot.  So going from 9 to 22 changed the timing by ~390°.

Awesome! So there is nothing wrong by doing the sync at 22 and changing the timing by ~390°?

Syncing the timing is a

Syncing the timing is a normal process for any stand alone engine management system and it can be anything from 0°-720° so changing it by 390° is totally normal if you've done something like completely changed the cam sync point in the engine cycle. The fact that it now starts and runs when it wasn't before means that it's now correct.

Awesome! Thanks gain... Quick question, we are using the AEM 24 disc on the wizard because with a 12 tooth crank because while the cam spin once the crank spin twice right? So that makes it 12+12=24?

Another question that I have

Another question that I have is why on the default Ignition calibration for the RB26 is the Nissan Skyline R33 (Series 1) Coils? Im on a R33 GTR, should I change it to the Nissan Skyline R32/33 (GT-R) coils? Im also using Splifire coils witch are more stronger than the OEM ones. Thanks again, you have been super helpful...
