Dear AEM
I have a truboost unit fitted to my small 1.6 NA project car.
The problem is boost drop off, I have the duty set at 53 which gives me 10psi at around 3000 rpm, at 5500 rpm it drops to about 6 psi of boost.
I know the problem in part is due to the small turbo I'm using, but other manufactures units have a feature to help remove this problem.
Anybody have any ideas?
Cheers
The TruBoost is only able to apply a fixed duty out to the solenoid. Unfortunately there is not a compensation for boost drop off.
The duty cycle will be your end result however you can play with the Spring Pressure setting to try and remove the spike in the system at the start.
Thanks understood, I'm trying a stronger spring this week rated at .8 bar which should give about 8 psi at the plenum at a guess. Will see what the drop off is like after.
cheers
Dhaddow, I was referring to the spring pressure setting in the tru-boost gauge. This can be adjusted to potentially combat the spike in pressure you are seeing. You may not have to change the spring.
