Acura NSX - No Start without Laptop Connected

Hi All,

Wondering if someone can help. It's a long story but in summary, I purchased a heavily modified NSX a couple of years ago. It runs the AEM Series 2 ECU with a patch harness along with the OEM ECU. The car has been in many different shops but the last issue I had was play in the crank so I had custom thrust washers made and installed and in the meantime, had the crank sensor changed. Had a no start issue after that. Finally figured out that the timing somehow went out so that was corrected and the car fired up. When my laptop is hooked up to the ECU and I can change the timing and coolant temp settings, it starts.  However, when I cycle the key, it loses the timing/coolant temp settings.

The car has been in so many hands so I'm not quite sure what the issue is. Is there a power wire for the AEM that is supposed to keep continous power to the unit for memory purposes? That's about the only thing I can think of.

I had sent the AEM for testing and it tested fine. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.
