AEM CDI 8-channel fuse blowing

hi,

 

i am running from septmber 2014 a AEM CDI 8-channel with pencil coils.

And it runs great, as long as it runs,

 

the AEM blows the fuse and i have now no ignition,

after looking on google, i see many more people have this problem.

It can be fixed of a loose wire internal of the unit i read.

Do i need to send it to AEM or can i do it myself without loosing waranty?

as i am an electronics man myself.

 

 

And when fixed, is this problem come back again or is it permently fixed?

What's the serial number and

What's the serial number and REV/MOD level of your Twin Fire?  The "loose internal wire" was an older problem where a wire going to the transformer would break.  When this happened there'd be no spark output but the unit wouldn't blow fuses so that's probably not your problem.  There is likely another problem.  You can send in the unit for inspection and if the damage is repairable we can repair it.  Unfortunately we don't have TF8 boards any more so if the damage is beyond repair, the board can't be replaced.

I will post serial etc tonight after my work as the unit is at home. it's the 2820 model 8-channel.

 

what if the unit can't be repaired?

how we going to continu then? refund? then i can go to another CDI that's still under service.

I need an CDI in my car as it's daily car, i did go with bike this morning freezing my ass of.

As this is the 2nd unit with the same problem.

the first unit didn't work after 2 months (same problem fuse blowing), this unit is from september 2014, only 4 months old.

The shop where i bought it, is now closed for good (doesn't exists anymore), so there i cannot go anymore.

 

Where do i need to send it to, adres please. only the unit, or complete set with cables, as that's still in my car hooked up.

I am located in belgium europe.

According to tech/customer

According to tech/customer service, your return authorization couldn't be sent out to you until you sent in your contact info.  You should probably have it by now.
