will we be able to use the "CAN" inputs in the control tables of the aem infinity? or is it just for logging?

Those channels are what is

Those channels are what is being transmitted by the ECU to external devices. That could be a dash display, PDM, External logger or whatever.

Right now the axis on the control tables are limited to internal channels only.

ah ok, so no generic registers I can populate on the aem from an external device and integrate into the program or log.

JR (and team),

JR (and team),

Thanks so much for making this public, and for the continued improvements to the Infinity feature set!  I've previously grabbed  some of these from the software itself (per Henry's suggestion), but having a beautiful document and support on CAN implementation is fantastic.

It'd be great to be able to feed some input back into the ECU (I know this is doable with the PNP units), but doing it through switched/5v input channels will have to do for now.  Really though, thank you guys!

AEM,

AEM,

Do you have any idea when AiM will release new firmware that supports the updated CAN protocol?  I'm running an MXL2.

If you email AIM directly

If you email AIM directly they will give you the beta driver.  I am using it with a EVO4 and Gdash.  Works well.

Oh man if the infinity could recieve through the CAN that would be sweet.  Free up some of my inputs to be put to better use else where.

I looked through the PDF and

I looked through the PDF and didn't notice Exhaust Back Pressure from the Infinity for CAN output. Will that be implemented in the future or did I just miss it? Thanks!

Is there an issue with

Is there an issue with Message ID: 0x01F0A007   #4 the Flex content?  the infinity software on my laptop shows it correctly, but my custom can-bus gauge will not show it.  I can even view the raw hex data, and it comes in as 000.

So now that i have found this

So now that i have found this im browsing thru and came across this. Wasnt really sure what the CAN was for but reading above.... can the outputs be used to send signal to autometer gauges? ie water (ect) temp oil pressure, ect ect?

It can only be sent to CAN

It can only be sent to CAN enabled devices that are configured to receive and decipher the AEMnet CANbus data stream.  It can't be sent to a regular gauge.  You can replace all your standard display gauges with a singular race dash that displays numerous channels of data.

I have an AIM MXL Pista dash and notice that Water Pressure, Crankcase Pressure and Estimate Torque are all datalogged. I have a water pressure sensor and a crankcase pressure sensor. They are being datalogged via an AQ-1, but it would be much easier to decipher data if they can be plumbed into the Infinity and then datalogged with the AIM. How does one setup the Infinity to be able to utilize that data? Also, how does one use the estimate torque feature?

Lastly, I also see that Airbox Temp is datalogged. What would that be used for? Thanks in advance!

I've switched to a CD7 dash,

I've switched to a CD7 dash, I have an Infinity 708 and it would still be extremely helpful to have Water Pressure and Crankcase Pressure datalogged by the dash. Is there any way to make this possible?
