AQ-1 Noisy RPM Logging

Any tips/tricks to filter/smooth out a noisy RPM log.

I am tapped into an MSD 6AL-2. My Autometer Tach seems to have really smooth needle reading. The AQ-1 is "T'd" off the same wire. MSD says I can have up to 3 outputs on the RPM signal.

Unfortunately the MSD CDI

Unfortunately the MSD CDI boxes have shown to have really noisy tach signals.  The physical tachometer itself isn't affected by the noise because the signal is "dampened" as it passes through the tach's circuitry.  The AQ-1 is trying to capture the raw signals that are inputted into it at as fast a rate as possible to give a true indication of what's actually going on with a channel input.

You could probably do your "filtering" through post processing and use a math channel in AEMData.  I've attached a pdf of a thread about filtering channels in AEMData from our old forum.
