Boost control solenoid wiring

Hello, I'm about to install an 8h in my friend's mkiv jetta gli with plug and play harness. In the installation instructions it mentions using the factory boost control solenoid. He has a very custom, heavily built setup and is planning to use the aem 3 port solenoid. Is it possible to just wire this in place using the factory solenoid wires or should I wire the aem solenoid another way?

Thanks!

Justin

Connecting the AEM solenoid

Connecting the AEM solenoid to the factory solenoid wires should be just fine.

Great, thank you! One more

Great, thank you! One more question if you don't mind. He is also running a larger dodge hemi 80mm dbw throttle body. In the dbw wizard, should I select custom? If their are any other parameters I should configure, please let me know. Much appreciated!

I've got some Hemi TB cal

I've got some Hemi TB cal data that works pretty well.

DBW Freq 600hz

P Gain 3.5

I Gain 30

D Gain 0.060

Int Clamp Hi 13

Int Clamp Lo -17

Add these values in after you do the setup wizard.  When you do the wizard, have a charger on the battery to keep voltage up around 14.  If it's down at 12 when you do the wizard, it'll skew the results.

There's a cal HERE that was

There's a cal HERE that was setup and tuned with a 70mm TB.  It's probably too old to directly import but you can at least see the DBW setup and PID values.

I tried with those

I tried with those adjustments, but still got some issue with rpm's. When shifting, the rpm's stay in 2500 for a while before go down to 1000 ( so how to say "hanging"). I changed dbw control range from 7% to 4.2% and it is better now, but is this right way to do it?
