crank and cam tooth removal

Hi.

I am in a project to convert an Evo8 to use Evo9 Mivec head and 12 tooth Kiggly crank trigger wheel. after i read the previous posts in this forum, the conclusion is i need to remove 1 tooth from the 12 tooth Kiggly trigger wheel, and remove 3 tooth from the intake cam trigger wheel to make it 1 tooth cam trigger wheel . the question is, which gear will be best to be removed from the 12 tooth crank trigger wheel to make it 12-1 related to the TDC? the same question goes to the cam trigger wheel, which 3 tooth are the best to be removed?

i believe removing the wrong tooth will make it prone misfiring, but i havent had the knowledge to this crank-cam pattern.

Set the crank to ~50° BTDC

Set the crank to ~50° BTDC and remove which ever tooth is closest to being sensed by the crank sensor.  Not a hard rule but not a bad idea to have the cam tooth NOT occur during the crank missing tooth section.  Probably safest to have the cam tooth be detected when the crank is at least a couple teeth away from the missing tooth.
