E46 M3 Supercharged

Hi,

I've recently acquired an Infinity and E46 M3 PnP harness. I also have added the dual wideband sensors and aux harness for use with the supplied 2 Bar MAP sensor.

I have been advised to use VE for the airflow calculation, Throttle for VE and MAP for Spark. As I'm using the 2 Bar sensor (selected in the wizard) and will be running up to around 10 PSI of boost, what option should I select for spark? What's the difference between MAP, MAP/Baro and MAP/EBP?

I tried to use MAP to start with but I end up sitting over half way up the spark map at idle (~400mbar) which obviously isn't right, is MAP/Baro the correct option?

At idle my car pulls around 20-22mm/Hg on my PLX boost gauge.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Martyn

If you set the ignition map

If you set the ignition map to reference MAP for load, then you need to change the breakpoints, which by default for the E46 M3 are setup for throttle (0-100%), to something that makes sense for a boosted application.  If using kpa for load units, I'd maybe do something like 20-200 in increments of 10 to start off with.  You'll have to disconnect and reconnect USB comms in order to get the live cursor to update after a axis reference change (just hit CTRL+SHIFT+D and then CTRL+SHIFT+U).

Thanks for the swift reply.

Thanks for the swift reply.

Which load referrence should I use MAP, MAP/Baro and MAP/EBP? What's the difference between them please?

Just like you said you were

Just like you said you were advised to use, I recommend sticking with MAP. The other load units are exactly what they say - MAP over Baro or MAP over Exhaust Back Pressure. It creates a ratio between the two different pressures.
