E85 In-tank horizontal mounting

Is it possible to mount one of the E85 in-tank pumps (such as the 50-1220) horizontally?  This would be mounted inside a fuel cell with the inlet plumbed to multiple Holley Hydramat pickups and I am concerned that by the time I connect the outlet hose, pump, inlet-to-barb adapter, and then some sort of T-fitting to connect the hydramat I am going to end up with a total length larger than my 9" deep cell.

Horizontal mounting is

Horizontal mounting is normally not recommended. It can lead to the pump being partially filled with fuel when fuel level is low which will keep the engine running but lead to the pump over heating. When mounted vertically, the pump quickly loses pressure when fuel level gets low and the engine stops running much sooner. But in your case, since you say you'll be using a Hydramat, I guess this risk is lessened. We've not tested with this configuration therefore we still can not recommend mounting the pump horizontally (up to 45° from vertical is acceptable) and doing so would be at your own risk.

Thank you, understanding why

Thank you, understanding why vertical is recommended, I believe I can figure out a way to mount it 45* to get the additional clearance I need without the risk of running it partially dry.
