Evo8 EMS v2 high rpm cam sync / timing error issue... ugghhh

Thought this was a v1 box problem

At about 7k, the tach goes crazy, starts breaking up / acts like it hits the rev limiter- thinks it's actually spiking 8k+ AEM shows timing errors.

Under 7k, 0 timing errors. Car starts literally instantly.. it gets sync'd as soon as the motor turns over. Seems good otherwise. Dwell set for my coils, this is at low boost too. Limiter is set at 8100, nothing obvious in the tune that's off.

Cam sensor is almost new, crank sensor is not.. but stock ECU has 0 problems and saw 8100 rpms constantly w/o issues.

I have extra grounds on the head, and chassis that I ran previously (always add grounds to my cars).

Where do I go from here... had a lot of issues with this box already, pretty disappointed so far. Help much appreciated!

Please post a datalog of the

Please post a datalog of the ECU counting errors at high RPM so we can see exactly what's going on.

Fixed.

Fixed.

I had some shieled wire I bought for an AEM v1 on a wrx years ago I never used. Ran that to my cam sensor, ran new power and ground to the sensor from the battery using a relay (triggering the relay with the stock cam power wire). Routed the shieled wire up front and around the passenger side of the engine bay (I have d585 coils and dsm wires, so I was getting it as far from those as I could). No more sync errors.. pulls to the limiter at 8100 without freaking out now.

Only issue now is that it's not logging anymore. It worked for 4-5 logs, now it acts like it's logging, saves the file.. but when you open it in data, it's blank and the logging program says 'invalid log source'

Looked at a few things but ran out of time as it was 2am. Won't be able to look at it for a day or two, does anyone have any ideas- probably something simple I missed...

thanks
