How to Configure your Serial Gauge to display Flex Fuel Content

Sorry this has taken me so long to get up on here. I have had this idea on paper for a while now just never got a chance to test it out. Well today we did and it works. Enjoy!

Series 2 EMS Software Setup

1. Wizards -> Setup Wizards -> Telemetry: Serial
2. Double Click AEM Serial Datastream Gauge (02v02 firmware) -> Make sure it displays matched. Click Apply -> Close
3. Tools - Configure Telemetry -> Serial Telemetry
4. Choose an open Byte. In this case we will be using Byte 6.
5. Click on the channel and from ADCR11 to Flex Fuel Per. Click Enter to accept the change.
6. It will now display Byte 6 - Channel Flex Fuel Content - Channel Alias Flex Fuel Freq, Flex Fuel Per

7. Close the Window. The Series 2 EMS is now configured to output the data.

Serial Gauge Progauge Software Setup
1. Always remember if you are doing changes while the Serial Gauge is connected to the laptop the changes you will be making are live. It is suggested to save your current Serial Gauge Calibration before moving forward.
2. Open your Serial Gauge File. In this case we will be using the Base Cal.
3. Save your calibration before making any changes.
4. Save your new calibration under a new file name before making any changes.
5. The software will open up with three tabs open. Global Gauge Data - Look-up Table and Single Gauge Data
6. Under the Single Gauge Data screen. Click on Number 6: ADCR 11(Don't worry that it says ADCR we will get to that in a bit)
7. Once this is selected it will automatically change the Look-up Table screen to that channel for configuration. Click on the Look-up Table to bring it forward.
8. Gauge Name - Change this to Flex Content
9. Units - ms
10. Gauge Display Name - You can set this up however you would like to display the name as you are cycling through the channels of the gauge. It is an 8 segment display so an X cant we used so I have used FL or FLH(Just be imaginative about the H being an X). To configure this all you have to do is click on the lines you want active.

11. Now the tricky part or populating the Display Value, Dial LED and Dial Color.
12. Click the Auto Fill Icon.
13. The left side will be Digit fill values.
14. Start cell 0 = 999, End Cell 31=999 Click Fill Table
15. Start cell 98 = 999, End Cell 255=999 Click Fill Table. Close the Auto Fill Box for now.

16. Now you have to manually fill in the table for the Flex Fuel Content numbers as it is not linear. The first number is the Item Number and the second is the Display Value. Remember that when you fill in the cells you are filling the numbers in from left to right so if you want it to display on the right side you must use the space bar to move to the next segment. The gauge on the right will have a underline of white of the segment you are working on.

17. Now this section for colors is entirely up to you. However this is how I set this up. By Default the Dial LED is set to Off and Dial Color to Green which is okay.
18. Open the Auto Fill Table again. Now we will be working on the Bar graph fill values. section.
19. Color 1 - Color 1 = Green, Start Cell = 102, End Cell = 69
20. Color 2 - Color 2 = Yellow, Start Cell = 66, End Cell = 42
21. Color 3 - Color 3 = Red, Start Cell = 40, End Cell = 0
22. Bar LED - Start Cell = 32, LED = 24
23. Bar LED - End Cell = 94, LED = 1
24. Once all that is set Click Fill Bar Graph. Click Ok to close the window. Click Ok on the Look up table to close.

25. Go back to the Single Gauge Data Window. #6 Should now be listed as Flex Content. On the bottom will be Gauge Order. Make sure to Highlight #6 on the left side and bring it over to the other side so it will display. Set where you want it for the order and click OK.
26. Now remember all the changes you have done were live so there is no need to save the file however just to be safe you can save the file again and flash it to the gauge. Plug the gauge back into the EMS and you are ready to go.

I can't seem to find my old

I can't seem to find my old file for my serial gauge.  Does anyone know if I can extract the file from the gauge and do a "Save as"?

How can i add battery voltage

How can i add battery voltage and boost pressure/vacuum?? I already did this for flex fuel please help

Why does my gauge just say

Why does my gauge just say 999 when the car is running but reads correct when the key is in and car is not running.
