K24 swapped Miata stat cranking always on, no stat sync

I'm working on getting our race teams Miata running for the first time. We did the K miata swap and put a k24 engine in it with a plug and play series 2 ecu. We installed an engine harness (rsx) that matches the ecu, then on plugs c and e we wired up our power connectors and made sure to connect the grounds and everything. The engine cranks and all sensors are active. I am able to get the ecu to trigger the coils and injectors manually but cannot get the engine to sync. What is odd about this is, when I'm sitting with the ecu connected to my laptop, and I'm just looking through the sensors, stat cranking is sitting in the "on" position. When I start cranking it I get "stat running" but I never get a stat sync. It is counting tons of timing and sync errors. It does this with either of the 2 engine harnesses we have for the car. I'm at a loss for why it's doing what it's doing. Any thoughts why stat cranking is on at 0 rpm!?

It's always on at 0 rpm.

It's always on at 0 rpm. That's how it's always worked - you may just be noticing it for the first time. What did your K24 come out of? Only the K24A1 from 02-04 CRV's is supported. A different generation motor may have a different timing pattern.

Ill check what was put in the

Ill check what was put in the engine. The engine came out of a 2003 Honda CRV

K24A4 Block with a K24A1 Head

2006 TSX cams with the 50deg VTC gear

all of the crank pulsars and cam pulsars are identical part #'s from those engines

Is there any reason I cant even get it to fire with crank syunc skip on?
