During our E46 development,

During our E46 development, we were informed that the E46 SMG system is not only failure-prone, but also difficult to troubleshoot when something isn't working as intended. Most shops and racers we contacted told us that the SMG is not worth supporting.

We're not completely sure what would happen if you were to replace the stock ECU with our Infinity in an SMG vehicle, but it would probably not work well. The SMG controller is likely sending some sort of torque-reduction requests to the ECU during shift events, and the Infinity would ignore these.

I stumbled across this post ironing out some DME issues on an 06 M3 SMG racecar.  I would be glad to install and test one out on an SMG car.  I have tons of BMW diag equipment as well.  It might be as simple as coding the SMG module.
