Universal fuel regulator dropping pressure

Hoping you can help me woith this one.  I recently installed a universal fuel pressure regulator to my fuel system.  I am finding that over the course of half an hor or so of driving my fuel pressure is dropping gradually by around 1/2 bar.  After the car has sat a while the pressure return back up to its normal base of 4 bar.  Could it be the regulator causing this, or do I have an issue with my fuel pump (a Walbro 255)?

Sounds like a possible temp

Sounds like a possible temp related pump issue to me. If you think it's the regulator, then what in your eyes is happening to make the pressure drop but then come back later? Fuel pressure regulators are pretty simple mechanical devices. I've never heard of what you're reporting being caused by a regulator. If a regulator fails, it's usually the diaphragm that goes.

I have checked my logs before

I have checked my logs before and after fitting the AEM regulator.  It looks like its a fault with the pump as the issue was there before, I must've missed it.   I think it may be the relief valve on the pump itself.  I think what i'm going to do is reinstall my stock pump and use that as a lift pump to fit an inline external pump
