upgrade from v1 to v2 kit

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade from the v1 to v2 kit by just replacing the controller with the v2 style controller and retaining all the existing v1 parts. Are there any advantages to doing this besides the more readily accesible control knobs; ie is pump control any different? Are the wiring harnesses the same between the 2 kits?

Also, I was wondering if it's possible to replace the suppied LED with an aftermarket LED (different color, size, etc). What specs should a replacement LED conform to in order to work properly and illuminate correctly?

Thanks

While they are similar, both

While they are similar, both generations of the systems are different enough that it's best to not mix and match components. The output to the LED is 12v so with that in mind you should be able to source whatever LED you might want so long as you're mindful of limiting the current.

I have a similar question. I

I have a similar question. I currently have the Aem methanol v1. My aem methanol system failed during my session at Laguna Seca. I found out that the methanol pump was leaking so I tighten the bolt that is on the pump (not on the tank)....tank ----> pump. I am thinking I should upgrade my pump to the v2. I called a representative at AEM but he is not familiar with the v1 but still assured me that I can upgrade the pump to the v2. I want to double check here, is it possible to upgrade? if so, what extra parts do I need? Thank you for your help.
