Which USB socet

Hi

I have just had an AEM Infinity ECU installed and have the data logging software downloaded, however I cannot get the laptop to recognise the ECU. The ECU has 2 USB sockets, one is the standatrd size (USB a) and the other is USB mini, both have the crew top dust cover son them. Which one should i use to download data from the ECU logger.

Thanks

Mark

A couple things...

A couple things...

You should probably spend some time reviewing the Infinity User Manual to familiarize yourself with the system.  A link to the manual is added to your desktop when you download the Infinity Tuner software which is the software you'll need to connect to the Infinity.  You posted this in the AEMData forum - you can't communicate with the Infinity using AEMData software.  You can review logs with AEMData once you've downloaded them using Infinity Tuner.

Here's some info from the manual regarding the USB connections:

The Infinity ECU includes high quality weatherproof bulkhead USB communications. The smaller connector is for PC communications. THe larger connector is for logging to a USB stick. Plug one end of a standard USB extension cable (included) into the smaller ECU connector and the other end into an open USB port on the PC. Communication is possible only when the ECU is powered up.

The Infinity doesn't have any internal logging memory.  Your Infinity came with a USB thumb drive that get's plugged into the larger USB port to act as your expandable logging memory.  If there's thumb drive in place then there is no logging memory thus you'd have no data logs.  Additionally, the drive can't just be plugged in - the channels to be logged needs to be configured in the software.

Ideally, who ever set this up and tuned this for you should give you some guidance on how to do all this and what channels it is you're interested in logging.

Many thanks

Many thanks

its the data software that i have as i have no interest / experience in the tuning, cant find the link to the manual anywhere or otherwise that would have been my first point of reference.

interesting though what you said about the 2 USB sockets and one being for a drive - so it may be that my ECU has no built in logging memory.

As you suggest I will go back to my installer for more advise. all i had so far was the link to the data logging software and advised to connect via USB lead as the ECU i set to log automatically.

Once again - many thanks for your help
