Wideband gauge broken

Tried emailing this to gen.tech@aempower.com but no luck on a reply so if anyone can help here that'd be great  :)

Digital Wideband UEGO AFR Gauge

Dear AEM,

My wideband gauge has stopped functioning correctly.

  • It permanently reads 14.7 EDIT 10.1-10.2
  • I have tried known working o2 sensors
  • I have tried swapping just the gauge in a car running the same gauge (working)
  • Therefore have effectively replaced everything, rendering it certain the gauge is at fault

The rear of the gauge reads 35-8460

I have since bought another AEM UEGO AFR gauge but would like to fix this one for my RX7 project.

Can you suggest any solutions? I'm not adverse to electronics, built my own megasquirt ECUs etc if anything is user serviceable.

Many thanks,

Marc

When you purchased the new

When you purchased the new gauge did you change all the wiring in the vehicle or did you leave the same wiring in the car? Try hooking just power and ground up to the gauge outside of the vehicle and plugging in the O2 sensor and see if the number will change. Reading 14.7 usually means it does not have a connection with the O2 sensor. Give us a call at (310)484-2322

Sorry I completely remembered

Sorry I completely remembered that incorrectly.

Just tested it again it actually reads 10.1 -10.2 and fluctuates between the two. I'm swapping just the gauges in the same car, same wiring, same sensor.

Thanks for the reply :) Calling is awkward as I live in Northern Ireland.

Silver bezel gauge is the faulty one, shown first.

I then swap in the black bezel gauge which works as normal.

Sorry for the delay in

Sorry for the delay in response Marc.  I know it's a lame excuse but the tech rep that normally receives emails at that address is out on vacation.  All the emails in that inbox are now being forwarded to other techs.  You should expect a response soon.
