X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Gauge with OBDII : shorted and not working, is it fixable?

I bought a new AEM X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Sensor Controller Gauge with OBDII connectivity ( part 30-0334 ) alittle over a year ago, I kept it in the box until last month when I installed it in my car and it was working flawlessly, I made a mistake by routing the sensot wire behind the driver's door, so I accidently pinched the wires and caused a short circuit, not the gauge will switch on fine if the sensor connector is disconnected, but as soon as I connect the sensor it would not switch on, I thought it has a brocken sensor so I tried another new sensor and it still doing the same thing. I noticed that once the sensor is connected its drawing about 700-800 mA, which is so excessive. I think what I have is a defective gauge. Is it possible to only buy the gauge alone?, I'm so frsutrated than I wasted away $250 worth of wires!!

Thanks in advance,,,
